The first Christmas Card of the year came from our local Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater.
On the cover is an adorable baby whose mom is a client of the center, and the text is from James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” Inside, are over 20 signatures of the men and women that keep the CPC going.
Honestly, I am humbled to receive this card. Sure, we pray, donate, and advocate unequivocally for life…
But the people who signed the card are the Christ-bringers. By lovingly reaching out to women whose unexpected pregnancy has churned up dark emotions like desperation, guilt and panic-stricken fear, they transform chaos to calm through the living Christ, restoring joyful anticipation of new life, awe at God’s Creation and heartfelt thanksgiving to Him for the blessing of children. To women struggling with post-abortive pain and trauma, trained counselors bring hope and healing through Christ, the Redeemer.
So, the card goes on our mantle, and we, well, we whisper prayers of thanksgiving for these standard bearers, for their work, and the immense commitment they have towards Life. We pray for the women they care for, and the babies they help save…You can too.
What better time of year to think about offering prayers and financial support for the Crisis Pregnancy Center in your area?
They often need basic baby supplies like wipes, diapers, baby lotion, shampoo and cotton swabs.
Financial donations assist in making ultrasound technology available which enables expectant mothers to see their baby, and also help centers assist with pre and post natal support.
“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching the people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. ” Mother Teresa of Calcutta
