And if one is committed to the role, dressing in sa’ convincing attire as to evoke memories of the SCOURGE of the seven seas:  Capt’n Hook, Capt’k Kidd, Capt’n Calamity, Capt’n Jack Sparrow, Long John  Silver or at least Blackbeard, then one is treated to one dozen fresh, hot, original glazed Krispy Kreme Donuts…

Clearly this was too good to pass up!  A quick scavenge through Number 1 Son’s Closet yielded pirate hats, an AYE-patch, a pirate hook and cutlass.  The Cedar Chest issued belts and bloussant attire.  The Daughter brought along her talking parrot…

We have two different Krispy Kreme locations in Virginia Beach, we went to the one at Northampton Blvd thinking that it would not be quite as busy.  We saw a few other pirates, but did not have to wait at all, and thoroughly enjoyed donuts for breakfast!

At the breakfast table later:

Mr. G:  What is a Pirate’s Favorite Letter?
The Daughter:  RRRRR?
Mr. G:  Ahhh, no lass, a pirate’s first love is the C.
